Testing that Reaches the World
Military / Defense Industry Testing
Crucial to the nation's defense, our military demands the most robust and reliable equipment on the market. As an independent test laboratory, we offer an impressive array of capabilities to validate equipment integrity before it is used by our service members. Just as our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines are expected to operate 'on-time, and on-target,' we hold ourselves to the same stringent standards for quality and technical excellence.
Clark Testing has a long history of supporting equipment qualification and component validation for the defense industry. Test programs are conducted under extreme conditions with our unique capabilities on heavy equipment and large components. Typical common tests include: MIL-STD-810 for environmental engineering considerations, Def-Stan (the UK version of MIL-STD), MIL-STD-461 for electromagnetic compatibility, MIL-STD-901 for medium weight shock testing and RTCA/DO-160 for environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment. MIL-STD-810G Environmental Testing
MIL-STD-810
Clark Testing maintains an array of shakers and chambers necessary for equipment qualification in accordance with Mil-Std-810. We understand that customers often impose difficult requirements for qualifying equipment in the defense industry.
Whether it be temperature / humidity cycling, shock and vibration, or salt fog, we pride ourselves on being able to 'improvise, adapt, and overcome' - helping you find a unique and cost-effective solution to accommodate your program's needs.
We also offer HALT / HAFT capabilities for programs that require extreme, highly-accelerated aging.
MIL-STD-461
Clark Testing has a fully accredited EMC laboratory providing compliance testing for equipment manufacturers throughout the United States. Our EMC lab has anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers, copper shielded rooms and ground planes. Clark Testing's EMC lab is FCC compliant and 17025 accredited by A2LA.
MIL-STD-901
High impact shock testing is used regularly to qualify critical shipboard equipment for combat-essential operations. Clark regularly performs medium weight shock testing on equipment for naval shipboard application. How does your equipment hold up against a 115g shock wave

Fuels & Lubrication
Clark's Lubrication Laboratory provides R&D;, qualification, and reliability support to industries such as defense and aerospace suppliers, additives makers, lubricant manufacturers, fuel suppliers, steel manufacturers and more using ASTM, ISO, & FTM standards as our guides to provide you with quality testing and superior results. We offer assessment of new and in-service oils, greases, hydraulic fluids, and fuels.
Clark's in-service lubrication lab works with clients to reduce failures by scheduling maintenance and downtime to avoid costly unexpected system break downs. We provide expert analysis, including spectrometry( Spec-oil and ICP), viscosity( Cannon and Anton Parr), Karl Fisher water (Coulometric and Volumetric), acid number, base number, particle counting( mineral and water based fluids), and analytical ferrography.
Clark's lubrication lab offers specialized testing to various specifications to assist clients in meeting requirements of lubrication and fuel certifications. Specification include, ASTM D975-13 Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils, ASTM D1655-12a Standard Specification for Aviation Turbine Fuels, the Morgan standard, including Dynamic Demulsibility Endurance testing, and MIL-G-46886B, MIL-G-25537C, MIL-PRF-2105E fo military applications to name a few. In addition we offer wear testing including FZG 12 &14 stages, Hydraulic pump testing (mineral and water based lubricant testing), 4-Ball Wear and 4-Ball EP for greases and oils. We are experts in specialized grease analysis using methods such as Lincoln Vent Meter, LT-37 "U.S. Steel Method Mobility of Grease", Roll Stability, and LT-46 "Bethlehem Steel Combo Test Parts A & B".
Testing Services
Shock and Vibration
Clark Testing’s Vibration laboratory has multiple hydraulic and electrodynamic shakers making Clark Testing the ideal fit for all your testing needs. Our Vibration laboratorys' investment in new equipment has led to Clark Testing being an industry leader in Vibration Testing.
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
Common to automated systems and electronics in the industry is the requirement to ensure electromagnetic compatibility of components and mitigate vulnerability to outside sources. Emissions and Immunity analysis provides insight as to the potentially undesirable propagation and reception of electromagnetic energy and radiofrequency interference.
Environmental
Clark Dynamics has the environmental chambers to accelerate aging and validate functional performance for longer product life expectancy. Clark can accommodate large component aging for extended periods simulating containment internal conditions as high as 170C.
Structural, Load and Fatigue
Unique to each test specimen are its functional and design-basis lifetime requirements. Clark’s facilities have the equipment and technical expertise to test a variety of components for mechanical fatigue and failure, life cycle, aging, accelerated aging, and simulation.
Powertrain and Gearbox
Clark Testing has been in the powertrain & gearbox testing business for over 20 years. Over that time we have tested products ranging from small components such as starters and air motors to transmissions and axles in excess of 2000 horsepower. ciency for anything from heavy off-road industrial equipment to high performance motorized competition vehicles
Fuels and Lubricants
The Fuels and Lubricants lab specializes in wear testing of products based on test rigs such as Four-Ball wear, Hydraulic Pump Wear, and FZG Gear. Clark Testing Fuels & Lubricants Laboratory is fully equipped to perform tests ranging from routine analyses to quality control.
