Clark Testing’s Vibration laboratory has multiple hydraulic and electrodynamic shakers making Clark Testing the ideal fit for all your testing needs. Our Vibration laboratorys' investment in new equipment has led to Clark Testing being an industry leader in Vibration Testing. Our vibration testing equipment can meet force requirements from 10lbs up to 30,000 lbs. and over a wide frequency range from 5Hz to 2,000Hz. Sinusoidal, random motion, actual time histories and machine generated shock pulses are used to satisfy the numerous vibratory environmental standards (which simulate air, sea, rail, ground transportation, pip vibration and life-cycle aging).

Our Vibration Laboratory testing hydraulic shakers include a single axis vertical shake table capable of 55,000 lbs. Force + / - 1 in Stroke, a Single Axis Shake Table capable of 30,000 lbs. Force 6" P-P Stroke and a RIM Table with the capabilities of 55,000 lbs Force, 4.95" P-P Stroke. Clark Testing also has a variety of Electrodynamic Shakers available for vibration testing which include the recently upgraded Ling 175/240. The Ling can achieve Frequency Response: 5Hz to 2,000Hz, Velocity: 70 ips, with displacement at 1.0" P-P. Clark also has a C109, C126 and a V9 Shaker available. The V9 has a frequency response of 5Hz to 2,000 and can generate 27,000 lbs. shock force.

Testing at Clark is performed along a single axis at a time on a variety of hydraulic and elctrodynamic shaker tables. Our commitment to maintaining and acquiring our testing equipment means that we are able to meet the testing needs of our customers. Our experienced staff is capable of working with customers to determine the appropriate test method to meet their requirements.

What is Vibration Testing?

Vibration Testing is performed to examine a product's response to a defined vibration environment. Testing can measure "Fatigue Life", "Resonant Frequencies", or "Mechanical Shock". The most common type of Vibration Tests are Sinusoidal or Random.

Sine tests are performed to to explore the structural response of the Unit Under Test (UUT). Sine tests are performed one frequency at a time and often identify resonant frequencies within the UUT. The analysis of potential resonant frequencies can inform further design and testing of products.
Random Vibration tests expose the UUT to all frequencies within a defined test spectra in a given time and are generally considered to replicate a real world environment. Random Vibration Tests are used to examine transportation, expected environment, and shipping of a variety of products.

Clark Dynamic Test Laboratory provides vibration testing for the following industries:

  • Rail/Transport
  • US Military
  • Automotive
  • Transportation/Shipping
  • Medical Devices
  • Consumer Electronics/Products
