Testing that Reaches the World

Amusement Park

Throughout North America, approximately 370 million people enjoy 1.7 billion rides at 400 amusement parks annually. Fortunately, due to the International Association of Amusement Park and Attractions (IAAPA) intense priority to enforce industry safety requirements, only 1 in 18 million people enjoying these rides are at risk of a serious in jury at a US amusement park.

The ASTM International F-24 Committee on Amusement Ride and Devices develop the safety standards and test methods for amusement parks. Clark Testing has a long history of testing to ASTM standards and providing testing services for manufacturers of Amusement Park equipment. Our mechanical laboratories can simulate the mechanical and environmental stresses caused by the functionality of amusement park rides. We have years of experience reproducing real time loading conditions collected in the field and reproducing these conditions within a controlled test lab environment. Our laboratory has performed testing on cars, axles, brakes, gears, wire rope, fasteners, rails and passenger restraints. Along with component testing services, we are also experienced in testing propulsion systems and people movers. Our mechanical labs provide vibration, shock, structural load, fatigue load, gearbox, rotary/torsional fatigue , EMC and electronic systems testing. Testing services are also available for hydraulic fluid, lubricants, and grease.

Clark Testing separates itself by having the top technical and engineering talent with many years of experience in mechanical testing. Our team of engineers and technicians recognize the complexity of product development, the criticality of timing and the importance of forming a collaborative relationship to achieve our customer’s objectives.

Testing Services

Environmental

Clark Dynamics has the environmental chambers to accelerate aging and validate functional performance for longer product life expectancy. Clark can accommodate large component aging for extended periods simulating containment internal conditions as high as 170C.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

Common to automated systems and electronics in the amusement park industry is the requirement to ensure electromagnetic compatibility of components and mitigate vulnerability to outside sources. Emissions and Immunity analysis provides insight as to the potentially undesirable propagation and reception of electromagnetic energy and radiofrequency interference.

Structural, Load and Fatigue

Unique to each test specimen are its functional and design-basis lifetime requirements. Clark’s facilities have the equipment and technical expertise to test a variety of components for mechanical fatigue and failure, life cycle, aging, accelerated aging, and simulation.

Shock and Vibration

Clark Testing’s Vibration laboratory has multiple hydraulic and electrodynamic shakers making Clark Testing the ideal fit for all your testing needs. Our Vibration laboratorys' investment in new equipment has led to Clark Testing being an industry leader in Vibration Testing.

Powertrain and Gearbox

Clark Testing has been in the powertrain & gearbox testing business for over 20 years. Over that time we have tested products ranging from small components such as starters and air motors to transmissions and axles in excess of 2000 horsepower. ciency for anything from heavy off-road industrial equipment to high performance motorized competition vehicles.

Fuels and Lubricants

The Fuels and Lubricants lab specializes in wear testing of products based on test rigs such as Four-Ball wear, Hydraulic Pump Wear, and FZG Gear. Clark Testing Fuels & Lubricants Laboratory is fully equipped to perform tests ranging from routine analyses to quality control.

We work closely with you to validate engineering, ensure quality, analyze products and qualify equipment while supporting the time constraints and product cycles that are vital to your success.
